Painting Chemise and Mountains

Amid Chemise and Asters oil on linen board 8x10
I was able to paint with other members of Oil Painters of America while in Colorado.
The members of the Colorado plein air painters asked me to join them one day at the foothills of the Rockies at an Audubon park my last week there. It was a balmy day late in September and I painted one of the members into my landscape. Chemisa is rabbit bush and it was just coming into full bloom. I found foreground interest in the contrast between them and the purple asters.
