Backyard Bamboo

oil on canvas raymar panel 8"x 10"

Before the rain fell yesterday I was able to go en plein air and do this small study of part of my back yard. Rattlesnake Creek, which has no rattlesnakes, runs through it to the James River. My husband spent a few days cutting back the invasive bamboo this past week so, I thought I would honor his efforts with a painting. This area serves as a bedroom for the deer that roam around here. Once in a while they come out and eat my hostas. One of these days, they shall be painted, too.
