Peony 6x6' oil on canvas

This is perhaps one of the most lush of flowers and so very difficult to paint, in my opinion. Which is why I had to try again. I attempted painting the back of a peony last year. This flower got pummeled in the rain, so I cut it to bring inside with two others I will get to later. White always provides the full spectrum and in this case, high key, which is also a struggle at times.
The journey continues. I may go look at some Sargent now, and the master of white light, Sorolla.
