Shoreline

One morning, early, at high tide, while walking to the sea, I came upon this remnant of a tree that actually looked like it was planted there. There were several just like it along the shoreline.
They were gifts from the sea during the previous evening's storm. Planted deep in the wet sand, they were enjoyed by the strollers at dawn with their dogs and coffee.
For this painting, I employed my palette knife and thicker bodied paint. There is such fun to this direct painting on a bigger surface.
