Landscape in Pastel
From Peg's Porch©2010C.L.Burgess 9x12 pastel on canson
I did not bring oils with me while up north. So I had my pencil and pastels to do sketches whenever the mood hit. When at my sister's one evening, I found a quiet moment and a nice spot outside where I could study the shadows and light cast in the late afternoon on the hill behind her house.
I had few colors with me but enough to get the gist of it all, so I can paint in oils back in the studio. I prefer to sketch in color than graphite.
