I was asked to provide a donation for a benefit to raise funds for the Children's Museum of Richmond. The gala is tomorrow night. This is one of two images I will provide to present my skills for auction. The attendees will bid on an 8x10 drawing I will provide of their child in graphite or charcoal. My grandchildren have enjoyed that museum and I thought it would be only fitting to support this initiative to keep it up and running. It also is a gentle way to market one's work.
Every time I sit and draw I wonder why I don't do it more often. I enjoy it so much.
This is graphite on Strathmore 400 drawing paper. It is a good rag quality but does not suffer moisture well. A little sweaty hand can really wreck your efforts, so if you try it out put a piece of paper under your hands and work from top down.
Have a great weekend.

A dignified little model and a lovely portrait with a timeless quality, Cathyann!
what grace of line and shadow, her essence is so clear. Best with the auction
Hi, Marie and Charlie,
Thanks for your lovely and generous comments!
I hope the auction is a success.
Best as always, C
Cathyann, how wonderful. I love the expression on this little one. To be able to achieve that is a gift. Once again your ability to paint and draw different subjects is so very inspiring. Thank you.
Thank you, Joan. I find inspiration in you, too. Especially venturing outdoors like you do so often. I should espcecially because I have a beautiful setting right outside my window. But, alas, I rarely force myself to carry my stuff outside.
absolutely stunning!
What a cute little model you had, Cathyann. And an excellent portraiture too! I love your donation and wish I could be the lucky bidder! Hoping you have a blast at the gala and thank you for the tip on the paper.
Thanks Carol.
