Sail USA by Virginia Fine Artist Cathyann Burgess

Sail USA©2012C.L.Burgess oil on panel 6x8 $175

Another palette knife painting of an excursion on the  St. Lawrence river, looking at sailboats.
I am liking the textural effect of layng color on with the knife these days. Very little done with a brush. Mostly the really small details. These people were, out beyond our boat last summer, catching a nice wind on the shipping channel up north.

nice painting. I like the way you'e cropped in very close on the sailboat. Those waters look a little rough though.

(Wah, I can't read those damn words I have to type in now so I can post my comment.)

LOL yeah.....those pesky words. Wonder who makes them up? I usually pop the thing twice to get what I can see! Thanks...Carol

Hi Cathyann,
Great use of the knife in this piece. The boat looks as if it is moving and your colors are perfect for capturing the light.
