Kitchenware Whites by Virginia Fine Artist Cathyann Burgess

Kitchenware Whites©2012 C.L.Burgess 8x6 oil on panel $175

Back in January, I painted with a former student of mine and posted a version of this.
Leaving it hanging about in my studio gave me time to mull over it's strengths and weakensses as an image. Since I have been recently thickening my paints and using the palette knife and the brush, I decided to lighten things up and freshen the application of the first go round. I also liked playing with the myriad kinds of whites that can make for an interesting painting.
It pays off once in a while to have "new eyes". It is good practice to turn things to the wall and let them sit, so that you can improve on an idea.
