Dog in Graphite by Virginia Fine Artist Cathyann Burgess

Been busy with different assignments of late. Trying to catch up on my posting.

This is a segment of a portrait commission I recently delivered, of a young boy with his dog.
Camera did not nearly capture the detail of the graphite as it looked. Maybe I need another camera. Or some classes in photography.  The piece was 19 x 25.
But hey, you get the idea? I love drawing but it is arduous. The entire piece took about 30 hours total.

To all of my friends and relatives who have served in our armed forces: I am grateful. Bless you.

I love this drawing, and would love to see the entire piece. This pooch has character and you've captured it beautifully. Love the lost and found edges as well.

Hi Cathyann, Can't wait to see the whole thing. This part of the drawing is wonderful. The dog is beautiful and I like your handling of the graphite. You've managed to get a wide range in the gray scale.

Looking forward to more!
