My Three Suns by Virginia Fine Artist Cathyann Burgess

I was at the farmer's market when these three flowers caught my attention, since they were the only ones left in the bucket on a very, very steamy morning.

Perfect to paint as they weren't perfect. They were droopy and beginning to curl, they had lived well and showed it. My Fiesta ware pitcher (one of several) was the perfect color to offset the oranges and gold, throw in a few fruits hanging around, some daisies and voila!.

I am still playing with texture and my palette knife. Time was running short on these guys I had to get the drawing down fast with a brush then impasto my way to the end.
